CMS Lacrosse Falls in First Round

After a terrible draw in which the Athenas were sent across the country to SUNY Cortland, CMS was sluggish and was beaten 23-8 by the Red Dragons, ending their season with a 12-2 record. SUNY Cortland will continue on, playing The College of New Jersey on Saturday.

CMS Lacrosse, Softball, Men's Tennis, Lee Qualify For NCAA's

After a highly successful Spring season, three CMS teams and one individual were pleased this week, receiving invitations to compete in the year end championships.

Lacrosse
After a successful 12-1 season, their only loss being to out of region opponent, Connecticut College, the Athenas Lacrosse team will travel to Suny Cortland this Wednesday to take on the Red Dragons.

Softball
After 28 wins, the most in school history, the softball team was selected for NCAA Championship field for the first time in program history. CMS (28-14) will travel to Texas in the double-elimination regional against host East Texas Baptist University (37-7) at 2:00 on Thursday, May 7.

Men's Tennis
Men's Tennis will compete for the NCAA Championship at UC Santa Cruz this weekend, beginning with Redlands, a team they have defeated twice already, and then a possible matchup vs. Cruz, who won a 6-3 regular season matchup this past weekend, for the right to come back to Claremont and play for the national title.

Tain Lee, Men's Golf
Tain Lee, after one of the best individual years ever by a Stag, was one of 5 Division 3 golfers selected to compete in the NCAA championships in Port St. Lucie, FL. Lee was recently named to the SCIAC first-team, named SCIAC freshman of the year, and is ranked eighth in the nation by golfstat.com.
